About Us

Puckapunal Kindergarten holds a Standard Licence with the Victorian Department of Education & Early Childhood Development to operate a 3 and 4 Year Old play-based program. We are a community managed Kindergarten who believe every child has the right to an education.

Our Aim
Our aim is to provide a nurturing, safe and encouraging environment in which our children can develop and grow through a play-based learning program. The program follows the Victorian Early Years Framework and is flexible, aiming to meet the educational, developmental and emotional needs of each individual child.

Through this, we strive to enhance each child’s sense of:

Identity and belonging                                                                                                Kinder 5

Well-being and confidence

Connection to their world and their community

This is achieved through collaboration with children, families and the wider community.

Management Structure
The kindergarten is managed by a volunteer Committee of Management.  Due to the transient nature of defence families and frequent change-over of committee members, an Administration Coordinator is employed to maintain the kindergarten’s day-to-day operations and provide additional support to families.

The Committee of Management operates with the following members: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and general members, including a Fundraising Coordinator. All members of the Committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September. They are elected for a period of 12 months and step down at the next AGM.
