The Kindergarten program at Puckapunyal Kindergarten is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. The vision of this framework is for all children to experience play-based learning that is engaging and builds success for life.
The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming. Belonging, being and becoming is a philosophy that embraces a holistic approach to enhance children’s learning outcomes.
Our program aims to assist children to become involved and confident learners through literacy and numeracy, to have a strong sense of identity and well being and to be effective communicators and feel connected to their world. In addition, children who attend Kinder are invited to participate in the Puckapunyal Primary School Transition to Primary School program, a preparation program for prep identified as exemplar by the Department of Education and Training (DET).
Puckapunyal Kindergarten offers 15 hours a week to all 4 year olds. Children attend 3 fixed days a week, for 5 hours on each day (9:15am-2:15pm).
The Kindergarten teacher is Kerry. Kerry is assisted by Sharon (Monday to Thursday) and Sofia (Friday).
